Wildlife is all around us

Coastal forests, pine rockland, beaches, wetlands, seagrass beds, and coral reefs support an abundance of diverse wildlife. Our sub/tropical climate allows an incredible range of species to live here, just outside your front door! We share our local landscapes with rare and threatened species like sea turtles, pillar coral, West Indian manatees, American crocodiles, and roseate spoonbills. These treasured taxa are part of wider landscape that is home to an abundance of thriving wild plants and animals, from lizards and birds to mushrooms and algae.
